Information regarding the Key Stage 3 Arabic course.
Is Arabic taught in the U.K.?
Yes. Some U.K. secondary schools, Islamic schools, and supplementary schools offer Arabic at Key Stage 3 (KS3). It is also taught by community centres and private tutors.

Who provides KS3 Arabic lessons?
- Certain state schools with a strong languages department
- Islamic schools
- Arabic Saturday schools and tuition centres
- Online platforms like ADLS Arabic or private tutors
Can anyone start pre-GCSE Arabic?
Yes. KS3 is the pre-GCSE stage, open to any student (usually Years 7–9, ages 11–14). Prior knowledge is helpful but not essential. Do be aware that some courses may be more in depth and require you to cover more material than others, even at this level. It shall also depend on the amount of time and the tutor.
What is KS3 difficulty level?
KS3 Arabic introduces the alphabet, reading, writing, speaking, and listening. It is beginner-friendly, but depending on your language ability, and perhaps other languages that you may speak at home, the script and grammar could prove more challanging for some studnets more than others. This just means that some may get off to a slower start, and need more time to cover the course.
European Framework Equivalence
By the end of KS3, most learners reach A1 to A2 on the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)—basic user level.
