Is there an assessment form?

Yes there is a form below. You do not need to fill this out to have an assessment but it helps us have an idea of your previous Arabic background, if any. It also means that if you fill out the assessment form, and wanted to take lessons afterwards, you would not need to fill out a separate registration form later

Is an assessment necessary?

No, assessments are optional, some students prefer to take an assessment before commencing with lessons, as it gives student, parent and tutor an idea of what areas need supporting most. If you prefer you can go straight to registration to start.

It is not always easy to know the level or potential of each student in advance, ability can vary, so an assessment is there to provide further insight. An assessment can be taken independent of lessons, there is no obligation to start lessons afterward. We also have an option to do a free placement test, see link below.

Is it an online assessment?

Assessments can take place online or at your home, depending on your location and available slots.

Taking an assessment online is an easier and useful way to prepare for lessons. Assessments take place during the week and weekends, early mornings, afternoons or late evenings.

Do assessments cost?

An assessment does not always cost, it depends on the time of year and whether there is an offer.

See the pricing page for cost. A typical, 45-60 minute, one off assessment will normally be charged at the PAYG (Pay As You Go) rate, which is the going rate for one off sessions. Online Quranic Arabic assessments are free, for up to a limited amount of minutes online, subject to availability. An online assessment will be cheaper than an assessment at your home.

How long is an assessment?

Assessments vary in duration but are usually as follows:

  • 30 minutes or less for Quranic Arabic assessments.
  • 45-60 minutes for a general Arabic assessment, includes report.
  • 60-90 minutes for a past paper focussed test session, includes live feedback.

The content of the assessment?

Assessment structure and content will depend on which language skills you are focusing on. The more exam orientated and/or demanding the lesson the more areas that will need to be assessed.

The assessments can take place with or without the tutor. A number of set tasks will need to be covered, the details of which are too many to cover here.

This form has four sections

1. Section 1: Enter your email to fill out the form.

2. Section 2: Parent name/s and info, if being filled out on behalf of someone else (about 3 questions).
