REGISTER FOR AN assessment

No, assessments are optional, some students prefer to take an assessment before commencing with lessons, as it gives student, parent and tutor an idea of what areas need supporting most. It is not always easy to know the level or potential of each student in advance, ability can vary, so an assessment is there to provide further insight. An assessment can be taken independent of lessons, there is no obligation to start lessons afterwards.

home & online

Assessments can take place online or at your home, depending on your location and available slots. Taking an assessment online is an easier and useful way to prepare for lessons. Assessments take place during the week and weekends, early mornings, afternoons or late evenings.

the cost

See the pricing page for cost. A typical, 45-60 minute, one off assessment will normally be charged at the PAYG (Pay As You Go) rate, which is the going rate for one off sessions. Online Quranic Arabic assessments are free, for up to a limited amount of minutes online, subject to availability. An online assessment will be cheaper than an assessment at your home.

the duration

Assessments vary in duration but are usually as follows:

  • 30 minutes or less for Quranic Arabic assessments.
  • 45-60 minutes for a general Arabic assessment, includes report.
  • 60-90 minutes for a past paper focussed test session, includes live feedback.

the content

Assessment structure and content will depend on which language skills you are focusing on. The more exam orientated and/or demanding the lesson route the more areas that will need to be assessed. The assessments can take place with or without the tutor. A number of set tasks will need to be covered, the details of which are too many to cover here.
